Inspiration: Slow Down Now

Allez !
Slow down,
Take a nap,
Take the time,
To enjoy the simple things in life.
It's too hot for anything else...

La vie en rose, ou presque

Bonjour !

Walking round our village late last evening I realised that I hadn't had time to blog for what seems like ages.

We've just started Miles' last week before the long Summer holidays and there's been so much going on with end-of-school-year activities, shows and parties that my mind and energy have been elsewhere.

Life is good right now. I love this time of year. I'm a Leo, I like my sunshine and thrive on all this Mediterranean heat.

We had an almost perfect weekend which included a pool PJ party with tents in the garden and a lot of hot but happy kids. We're doing the same next Saturday with an even bigger group, so if it happens to be quiet on here for a few days, I'm busy making super special memories with my children.

Bonne semaine !

Just Three #4 - Du Gris

Et oui !

Despite the sunshine
I'm into grey today.

We've started painting all our shutters and railings black and slate at home, so I'm feeling dark, earthy and creative. This house is going to be wonderful when it's finished!

I really love these three links, so I hope you'll enjoy browsing the shops' websites, blogs and tumblrs.
Inspiring, stuff, you'll see.

Allez - 1, 2, 3 - Partez !

Cogu's instagram feed is everything I love.
Atelier-chrono is a Japanese gallery-hair salon-lifestyle shop.
Follow them daily on instagram.

Three is a magic number!

Bonne journée !

Inspiration - Coffee with Cream

Well, the heat is on!

It's hot, the cicada are a-whirring and our garden is looking parched!

I'm busy at home getting everything ready for Savannah and Miles' summer birthday parties this weekend and next, and all I can say is, Merci, Merci ! thank goodness we have a pool! I'm not complaining though, I promise, I love living here at this time of year.

It's been a while since I posted anything kid-related so as my focus is very much on my own children right now, I'm going to kick off this new week with some simple handmade treasures. I hope you find them inspiring and will take the time to browse these talented makers' sites.

Have a great week!

Elise Cameron-Smith's The Pirate & The Matador workshop/exhibition at Society Inc looked stunning! Check out Elise's beautiful shop and blog here.
For CRAFT on etsy have heaps of simple plywood designs for kids' rooms and more
Japanese estore ECRU sell some super leather headpieces and accessories for little ones
I just can't get enough of Pinch Toys' products - pretty perfect if you ask me!
Tepees makes me smile - I love this big one from House In Habit
Snow White by Milimbo would add a nice graphic touch to any room

à bientôt !

High Five #90 - Etsy Faves

Because a list of 19th Century composers is quite simply chic,

because linen touches make a holiday home,

because Marina's art always makes me look twice,

because water on a wall is a treat for the senses,

I'm pleased to share this week's five faves from etsy.

Bonne journée !

Monday Moodboard: Home Sweet Home

Bonjour !

Monday is a great day for making some important decisions!

I woke up this morning and decided it was high time we finished renovating our house,
so that's what I'm going to do.
Wherever I look there are things to be painted, sanded, fixed, refreshed ...
and I can't stand living like this anymore.

In a couple of weeks all three of my children will have broken up for the very long summer holidays. I can't wait.

I'm in a 'doing' mood, and we're going to work a bit and play a lot in the garden, at the beach and in the UK! Enfin !

What are your plans for the Summer?

Are you going anywhere nice, or have you decided to stay at

Home Sweet Home?

Let It Rain!

Oh oui,
Let it rain,
encore et encore...

I got soaked this morning and it was wonderful!
It's been so hot here the past few days, I could barely think let alone move.

I'm looking forward to a showery weekend, and so are our olive trees and garden!

Monday Moodboard - Still Now

That's right.
Swinging moods
Swaying thoughts
Fluctuating desires
Differing from one day to the next.

Strong yet fragile
taking time to reflect
Need to blow away those black clouds overhead.

I hope you all had a great weekend.
As predicted, we have been enjoying an early June heatwave in France, so we barely left the pool and garden. I love these slow, sultry hot summer days but for once I'm ready for a storm...

Life is good here right now, and after poring over the latest issue of Côte Sud Magazine this weekend, I am feeling enthusiastic about renovating our house.
Ideally, we'd like to start letting it out next year, or perhaps do a house swap, we'll see.

I hope you enjoy browsing this week's favourite links,
I love Maria Queen Maria!

It's Pool Time!

Envie de fraicheur, de nager longtemps, jour et nuit.
Il fait chaud,
terriblement chaud,
Et j'adore ça.

Oh my, I love it here when it's hot!
I am looking forward to spending this weekend by the pool.
I'm going to induldge in some proper magazine reading (about time too) starting with this little gem that arrived last week. Polish is good, it's different, inspiring, out of my comfort zone, I need that right now.

I've also treated myself to the latest issue of In Clover and have a couple of other new publications bookmarked for this Summer. Any more suggestions?

Talking of treats, I may spoil myself for my birthday.
I love Frieda's Mellema's artwork and styling, all of it.

I have a soft spot for textiles and her latest series of prints on fabric based on a group of collages called "Le Ciel Peut Attendre" is fresh, modern and poetical.

The prints measure approximately 36 x 37 cm and cost 15 EUR each + postage/packing.

Send Frieda an email if you're interested in buying anything ( but leave a few for me!!!), and give yourself 10 minutes to browse her beautiful site.

Is very special.

Lupin Love

Hello June!

If I close my eyes
to recall our never-ending summer holidays growing up in the seventies
I can picture all the

Skipping, cats-cradle, rounders
dens made with sheets
jam sandwiches for tea

and Lupins.

I love Lupins

Thanks for the inspiration:
